Welcome to the NBAC Youth Basketball League, a North Babylon based community organization.  My name is Jeffrey Wilson and I will be serving as your new Commissioner of Basketball.  Many of you should be familiar with me already as I have been involved with the NBAC for more than 40 years, some years as a youth basketball player and for more than 25 years in a coaching capacity.

We hope that you find the new website user friendly.  It should provide you with all of the vital information that you will need to register your child, stay abreast of practices, games schedules, game rules, cancellations, reading material for improving certain aspects of your child’s game, a “show and tell” area with photos from NBAC Basketball activities and games and links to sports sites and to social media sites for NBAC Basketball.  We encourage you to send your photos from NBAC Basketball activities and games in JPG format to JKWNB85@gmail.com so that we can include them in our website gallery and on our Instagram, Facebook and Twitter postings.  For the protection of our children, no one will be identified in any of the photos that appear in our gallery or on any of our social media postings.

NEW RULES & POLICIES:

  • Due to new rule restrictions, all coaches who are selected will be asked to complete a background check that is provided by NBAC Basketball.
  • Parents will be required to sign an ethics code which will be kept on file with NBAC Basketball and registration cannot be completed without the signed ethics code.
  • The league will consist of age groups ranging from kindergarten through 11th grade.
  • Depending on enrollment, we would like to set up a separate Girls Division this year if there is sufficient interest.

In closing, it is important that you know that we will be putting an emphasis on the basic fundamentals of basketball (drills for ball handling and dribbling as well as man to man defense will be paramount).  From a behavioral standpoint, the organization will concentrate on self discipline, teamwork, friendship, leadership and sportsmanship.

Let’s get started and have a fun-filled 2014/2015 season.  Remember that SAFETY always comes first.

Sincerely Yours,

Jeffrey K. Wilson, Sr.
